Two EU-funded projects - EPACE (Exhanging good practices for the promotion of an active citizenship in the European Union) and YES II - Promotion of Representation and Participation Programme began in February 2009 at the Ministry of Justice Finland Democracy Unit. Both projects aim to increase possibilities for citizen participation and influencing.

The EPACE develops good practices for the promotion of an active citizenship together with Estonian and Swedish project partners. The YES II concentrates on disseminating information regarding fundamental rights, methods of influencing as well as participation channels for the young and those with foreign backgrounds.
