EPACE project organises an international conference on good citizen participation practices.

The first conference day consists of presentations by invited speakers as well as workshops regarding good citizen participation practices. The topics are chosen in connection with EPACE themes such as
- democracy policy and administration of democracy issues
- e-democracy and e-participation
- citizenship education

Special focus is given to youth and immigrant participation.

Speakers are invited from government offices, academia and civic society organisations. Carolyn Lukensmeyer (AmericaSpeaks) speaks about democracy policy and citizen deliberation and Edward Andersson (Involve) of measuring success in citizen engagement. Professor Marju Lauristin (Tartu University) delivers a speech on teaching and learning participation.

Presentations are followed by workshops where participants share and elaborate good citizen participation and involvement practices. These recommendations are thus integrated in the EPACE materials and publications.

On the second conference day, Democracy Officials’ network is planned and discussed in conjunction with presentations in the field. Eurydice network on education and the democracy work within the Council of Europe is presented.
